Publisher of local news websites across the United Kingdom
GOB Media Group publishes local news websites for towns and districts across England. Each title covers its own patch: council decisions and planning, roads, rail and buses, schools, policing and the courts, local business, sport and what's on. The first title, Sevenoaks Online, launched in 2026 and the group now publishes more than 120 local titles.
We started the group because most towns had lost the reporter who used to sit in the council chamber and the magistrates' court. Our titles are run from a single newsdesk with local contributors, readers and community groups supplying stories, photographs and corrections. Every title is free to read and carries no paywall.
Stories are checked against the original source before publication. We name the organisation or person a quote comes from. Corrections are made promptly and marked on the article. Readers, contributors and businesses can reach every title through its own newsdesk address, and the group through the details on the contact page.
The group is independent and privately owned. It is not part of any larger publishing company.
